Meet Evan Laboissonniere, a Hall-of-Fame Drummer and Educator

Evan holds a Bachelor of Music in performance and education and is a Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame inductee. He has recorded for Capitol Records and toured nationally, and now brings decades of professional drumming to students of all ages.

About Evan

Born and raised in Rhode Island, Evan earned his Bachelor of Music in performance and education from the University of Rhode Island in 1991, and in 2017 he was inducted into the Rhode Island Music Hall of Fame.

He is an international recording artist with Capitol Records and others, and played with Plan 9, a national touring headliner in the 'paisley underground' scene, sharing stages with Soul Asylum, Camper Van Beethoven, The Smithereens, and Husker Du. He later played with Brighter Shade alongside John Driskoll Hopkins, now of the Zac Brown Band.

Since moving to Tahoe in 1999, Evan has performed with the Indigo Grey jazz quartet and The Sugar Pines. He teaches classical percussion, jazz drumming, and drums.
